Job Description
The SaaS Engineering - Social Cloud Service team provides 24/7 technical assistance for managing the Social Cloud Service (SCS) application platforms.
SCS is a scalable, enterprise-ready social relationship management solution that empowers brands to leverage the power of social media across their organizations.
Businesses that use SCS software effectively uncover customer insights that enable them to deliver relevant content and faster service across channels like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Weibo. Social cloud tools allow brands to listen, create, and engage at the speed of social with the consistency and transparency customers expect.
As a member of the SaaS Engeneering team, you provide strategic technical assistance in the resolution of complex incidents affecting customer services. Coordinate all efforts with other teams and document all actions taken.
You will also work the development team in the deployment of new application releases.
As a member of the SaaS-Eng team, you will solve interesting technical challenges by defining, designing, deploying, and troubleshooting key Social Cloud Services, platforms, and infrastructure, always thinking about reliability, scalability, resilience,security, and performance.
The candidate participates in the design, developing and deployment of new monitoring, deployment and configuration tools and contribute and the tuning and scripting of the existing ones.
What You'll Do
Service Ownership You will be part of the SaaS-Engineering team, whose mission is the shared full stack ownership of a collection of services and/or technology areas, with our Development partners. You will understand the end-to-end configuration, technical dependencies and overall behavioral characteristics of the SCS. In partnership with the Development team, you will have the responsibility to ensure that services are designed and delivered to be mission critical with focus on security, resiliency, scale, and performance.
Service Design As the Oracle Cloud evolves; you will partner with the development team in defining and
implementing improvements in service architecture, both current and future. As a SaaS Engineer, you will be an expert at articulating technical
characteristics of your services and the dependencies between services and guide the Development team to engineer and add premier capabilities to the Oracle Cloud service portfolio.
Operations Engineering You will understand and be able to communicate the scale, capacity, security, performance attributes and requirements of the SCS. You are a Subject Matter Expert, able to understand and communicate every characteristic of your service stack, such as:
degradation and behavior under load of the services and their dependenciesend-to-end
end-to-end tuning needs, optimizing resource utilization, as load patterns fluctuate
Instrumentation and metrics that clearly describe the service behaviors scaling requirements and patterns
resiliency and recoverability, ensuring that backup / restore and disaster recovery capabilities are implemented, tested and maintained
Automation You will have a clear understanding of automation and orchestration principles, and will be eager to automate, wherever and whenever the possibility arises, while simultaneously eliminating technical debt. Automation must be part of your DNA.
Prevention - Once you have expertly resolved an issue, you will immediately work on how to more quickly resolve the problem next time, with the goal to eventually prevent the problem happening ever again
Technical Experts - As service owner, you are the ultimate escalation point for complex or critical issues that have not yet been documented as SOPs for Level1 staff. You will usually get called in during major incidents, when the source of a problem is unclear. You will have the deep understanding of service topology and their dependencies required to troubleshoot issues and define mitigations.
Broad Interests SaaS Engineers are a mix of sysadmins and development Engineers, and as such can understand and explain the affect of product architecture decisions on the ability to run as distributed systems. They are driven by professional curiosity and a desire to a develop deep understanding of their services and the technologies they depend upon.
Required Experience
We are looking for experienced individuals with a BS in Computer Science and over 5 years of experience in a range of technical skills related to BigData architecture:

Detailed description and Job Requirements
Manage the production and pre-production SCS Big Data platform during IDC and US hours
Provides technical support for issues affecting the SCS Big Data platform (Hardware/OS/Application)
Monitor the SCS Big Data platform to identify and/or prevent incidents
Design and implements tools to automate monitoring and system configuration
Coordinate with other teamsall efforts to keep the SCS Big Data platform stable
