Take initiatives in the matter of EHS with an objective to upgrade the standards of Occupational Safety protection
Coordination for capacity building programs of the organization in enhancing safety standards.
Identify the training needs at shop-floor by having regular interaction at Peer levels and below
Strengthen the systems of training at shop-floor through tool box talk
Developing Training modules and coordinating safety training program in association with HR
Identify areas of improvement in plants through inspection/audit programs, safety meets, interactions with other employees
Generating/updating various checklists/ building up standards
Participation as team leader/member in incident investigation, their root cause analysis and generating recommendations for avoiding recurrence.
Keeping track of all incidents and compliance of recommended actions
Maintenance
& up-gradation of emergency handling facilities/ capabilities and test them through Mock drills, ERT trainings etc.
Coordinate with other leads in the department to improve visuals within the company
Coordinate and ensure effective implementation of various initiatives/ programs towards improvement of safety culture - BBS Management program, PPE compliance,
Responsible care, product stewardship, transportation safety, material handling safety etc.
Organizing safety committee meetings and ensuring implementation of identified meeting outputs
Identifying changes in legal requirements and taking appropriate actions to ensure compliance to all legal requirements.
Coordinating actions towards implementation of OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001/ISO 14001
Carry out Safety reviews of proposals of changes/ modifications in process/hardware etc.by way HAZOP/Job Safety Analysis or any other tool as appropriate.
Functional Knowledge
Sound knowledge and application skills of various national and international legislations/ standards/ guidelines in the field of Occupational Health & Safety
Knowledge of process safety management & Risk Analysis tools
Knowledge ISO 14001, OHSAS-18001, RC guidelines
Good analytical skill and system approach to analyze the problems
Hands-on experience of handling emergency situations in a process plant
